Dr Pockets
The Puppet Doctor
Meet Dr Nincompoop Pockets… a goofy, loveable doctor dedicated to helping puppets in all kinds of zany ways. With his guitar in hand, he loves to sing, dance, and crack jokes, but sometimes his solutions are as outlandish as his name.
He’s always getting things a bit mixed up, whether it’s a silly misunderstanding or an hilariously complicated solution to a simple problem.
Despite his clumsiness, his big heart and kind nature shine through, and he loves the puppets (and the children) with every fibre of his being. Kids in the audience become his allies, helping him figure things out when he’s stumped, creating a delightful atmosphere of teamwork and laughter.
Winston
Winston is a friendly, laid-back dog with a big, goofy smile and an endlessly calm approach to life. Nothing seems to faze him, and he takes everything in stride with a chilled-out charm that everyone loves.
Winston’s easygoing nature is balanced with a cheeky sense of humour; he’s always ready to crack a gentle joke or lighten the mood when things get too serious. Kids learn about staying calm, showing kindness, and being fair from Winston’s example.
He’s the kind of friend who reminds everyone to take a deep breath and let the little things go.
Grumbles
Grumbles is a pink, furry mischief-maker with a knack for saying the unexpected! Though he sometimes seems grumpy and loves to “grumble” about silly things, he’s deeply fond of Dr Pockets and the other puppets.
He occasionally tells the audience that they smell, or playfully enjoys messy situations. His slightly naughty but never mean-spirited. His humour keeps everyone on their toes and offers teachable moments on patience, tolerance, and understanding.
Grumbles shows that it’s okay to feel a bit grumpy sometimes, and through his antics, kids learn about empathy and inclusivity.
Chloe
Chloe is the bright, quick-thinking girl who brings cleverness and compassion to every situation. She’s a natural problem-solver, stepping in to mediate or find solutions whenever Dr Pockets or the puppets are puzzled.
Chloe is also a proud advocate for inclusivity, embodying strength and wisdom that inspire all kids, especially girls, to believe in their abilities.
Her confidence and smarts help her model important values like saying “no” when something feels wrong, standing up for herself, and showing that everyone can shine in their own way.
Thaddeus III
Thaddeus the Third is a wise old snow monster with a magical touch for storytelling. He’s the one the puppets and Dr Pockets turn to when they need guidance or an answer to life’s big (or small) questions.
With his deep knowledge and mysterious charm, Thaddeus encourages everyone to approach him with the right questions. His stories are like little lessons in disguise, offering children a glimpse into understanding, wisdom, and patience.
Thaddeus is a gentle, comforting presence in the show, bringing calmness and enchantment wherever he goes.
